Appointments cancelled without notice, sessions that go unbilled, and payments you've been chasing for three weeks aren't admin — they're your salary. Nerela reminds patients about appointments on its own, turns a session into an invoice in two clicks, and takes card payment — with the money going straight into your bank account.
Small leaks, every month, for years. Nerela closes all three.
The patient doesn't show up and that slot never comes back.
You ran the session and the invoice got left for Friday. Nerela issues the invoice-receipt straight from the appointment, with automatic sequential numbering, and shows you in Reports how much you've already worked and not yet billed.
A card payment link built into the invoice itself. The patient pays from their phone in twenty seconds and the money goes straight into your account. You stop asking "did the transfer come through?"
The reminder goes out on its own the day before, with the date, time and address of your practice. Always by email; by WhatsApp too, once you switch it on in Settings. You don't have to remember anything, and you're not typing six messages at eleven at night. And at month's end, Reports tell you how many no-shows and cancellations there were and what they were worth, at the rate you've set for each practitioner.
Nerela tells apart two numbers that most software mixes up: what you've already invoiced, and what the sessions you've already held but not yet collected on are worth. The second one is the one that'll surprise you. And to close that gap you don't need to open anything: the appointment that took place already has a patient, date and rate, so the invoice-receipt comes straight from there.
You send the invoice with a card payment link built in. The patient pays from their phone and the invoice marks itself as paid the moment the money arrives. And the money lands in your bank account, not ours: Nerela never holds it. Every status change is logged with date and time — issued, paid, cancelled — and no invoice changes status without leaving a trace.
The booking page is open at eleven at night, exactly when the patient finally decides. They pick a practitioner, see your real availability and book — no phone calls, no WhatsApp at odd hours, no Tuesday slot left empty because nobody answered in time.
Nerela is clinical software for psychologists. It isn't a hairdresser's booking app with a health tab bolted on.
A booking app keeps a name and a time. Nerela keeps history, points to watch and the next steps of therapy — and puts them in front of you every time you open the file.
A booking app leaves you with the appointment made and all the admin still ahead of you. Nerela issues the invoice-receipt straight from the session, with sequential numbering and the patient's details.
A booking app treats your patients' data like a restaurant reservation. Here it's a special category under Article 9 of the GDPR: encrypted, in the European Union and isolated at the database level itself.
When you close out each session you write your notes and a line on next steps. Next time you open that patient, that line is waiting right at the top, with the date of the previous session. You stop starting the session by deciphering your own handwriting.
Daily log of anxiety episodes before meetings. Revisit the exposure hierarchy next session.
Your own WhatsApp number for the practice, powered by AI, that looks after your patients, books appointments, checks what's already booked and changes it for you — any time of day. When it needs a human, the conversation comes to you; and you hand the AI back the conversation in one click. You get the patient, not the conversation.
One practitioner loses one empty chair a week. Five lose five.
Reports and Management read what's already logged in the schedule and invoices — with nothing written twice and no spreadsheet that nobody keeps up to date.
Centre plan: the price shown below includes 3 practitioners, plus a per-practitioner add-on price for each extra one. A centre with five practitioners: two avoided no-shows a month can already cover the difference. You start with 14 days free, no card, and you sign your team up yourself, without waiting for anyone to call you back.
Plenty of patients are entitled to reimbursement from their insurer and give up because the receipt arrives incomplete. You save each patient's insurer on their record and the invoice-receipt comes out with what the provider asks for, ready to submit. Fewer receipts sent back means more money reaching your patient — and more patients who keep going with therapy.
Your patients' data is a special category under Article 9 of the GDPR, and it's treated as such here.
Encrypted in transit and at rest, hosted in the European Union, with automatic backups and redundancy through a European provider. If you lose your laptop, the data stays put — and accessible only to you.
Each account only ever reaches its own patients, appointments and invoices. The rule is enforced at the database level itself, not just on screen: no other account and no direct connection gets around it.
You can request export or deletion of your data whenever you like, at no cost, by writing to ola@nerela.eu. And when you delete a patient, their record, appointments, notes and images go with them; invoices already issued stay, because the law requires them to be kept.
New Zealand's Privacy Act 2020 governs how you handle patient data, with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner as the competent authority — see our Privacy Act 2020 guide for psychologists. Practising here? See what registering with the New Zealand Psychologists Board means for your practice.
Everything included: scheduling, patients, session notes, invoicing and reports. No modules to unlock, no lock-in. Paying annually saves you 20% — 278 NZD/year on the Professional plan (about 23 NZD/month), 950 NZD/year on the Centre plan (about 79 NZD/month).
Forever, up to 10 active patients. Scheduling, records and a booking page. No card and no end date.
For independent psychologists who want to stop chasing their own money.
For clinics and centres with several practitioners.
Add-on. A WhatsApp number for the practice that answers and books appointments using AI.
14 days free, no card · No lock-in · Support in English
Pricing per account, not per module: scheduling, patients, notes, invoicing and reports are all included.
Centre with five practitioners? 137 NZD/month, whole team included.
You create your account and get all of Nerela for 14 days — scheduling, patients, session notes, invoicing and a public booking page. We never ask for a card. When the 14 days end, nothing is charged automatically: if you want to continue, you start the subscription yourself from Billing.
No. Not to create the account, and not during the 14 days. You only enter payment details the day you decide to subscribe — and if you never do, there's no charge and no renewal to cancel.
See the price shown in the plans above for the Professional and Centre plans, and how much each extra practitioner adds to the Centre plan. Paying annually saves 20% on either plan. No lock-in.
It depends on your own session rate. Avoiding just one no-show a month can already cover several times the Professional plan price shown above. And one no-show a month is a conservative estimate — plug in your own numbers on the calculator and see what it comes to.
The Centre plan price shown above already includes 3 practitioners, plus the per-practitioner add-on price for each extra one — so a centre of 5 pays the Centre plan price plus 2 extra practitioners. Paying annually reduces the total further.
Yes. You import them from a CSV file and, if you'd rather, we do it with you: we set up your schedule, session types and the import in one working session. You talk to the people building Nerela, not a random support ticket.
New Zealand doesn't currently require certified e-invoicing for psychologists, neither B2B nor B2C. Nerela issues a PDF invoice-receipt with automatic sequential numbering, your tax details, your patient's, and the session amount. Each invoice is chained to the previous one with a SHA-256 hash: edit an old one and the chain breaks, visibly. GST registration is a matter to confirm with your own accountant, based on the threshold Inland Revenue sets, independent of Nerela.
The receipt is issued by Nerela with whatever the insurer or ACC asks for, and the patient (or you, as a registered ACC provider) submits the claim separately. You save the insurer on the patient record and the receipt comes out complete the first time, which is where most reimbursements get lost. Nerela doesn't manage ACC billing directly — it helps you keep the clinical record and schedule behind that claim organised. See our guide to ACC Sensitive Claims.
Each session creates its own invoice with its own payment link, which is exactly how a psychologist bills: a session that didn't happen isn't charged, and you don't need to remember to pause anything when a patient is on holiday. The patient pays by card from their phone in twenty seconds and the invoice marks itself as paid.
Encrypted in transit and at rest, hosted in the European Union, with automatic backups. Each account only ever reaches its own data, with isolation enforced at the database level itself. New Zealand's Privacy Act 2020 applies to how you handle that data, with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner as the competent authority. You can request export or deletion whenever you like, at no cost.
There are good general allied-health platforms serving the New Zealand market, but we haven't identified another practice-management software built specifically for psychologists as a category. Nerela aims to be the first one built specifically for that.
Today each centre runs on its own account, with its own schedule, team and reports. If you run a group, tell us how you work and we'll build it with you.
Try it for 14 days and run the numbers. If you don't see in black and white where the money is leaking, you've lost nothing: you never left a card on file and there's nothing to cancel.
